Faith Dialogues at Saint Mark (formerly the Visiting Theologian Program) is hosting Dr. Susan Pitchford October 16th to 18th. She is a sociologist from the University of Washington and has a particular interest in St. Francis and St. Clare. She will be speaking from a sociological perspective about their influence for our lives in 2015.

On Friday evening, October 16th, at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Pitchford’s lecture will be Francis and Clare of Assisi: A Spirituality of Joy.

On Saturday morning, October 17th, we move from theory to practice. Dr. Pitchford will offer two workshops. At 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. she will speak on Faith Beyond Sunday: Having a Rule of Life.

Dr. Pitchford will also be available on Sunday morning, October 18th for the Forum at 9:45 a.m..

In preparation for her arrival we will hold a Saint Mark Reads. Her book, The Sacred Gaze: Contemplation and the Healing of the Self will be the study. Books and more information will be available free (courtesy of the Faith Dialogues Fund) beginning this Sunday. We hope you will have opportunity to participate.
